Royal Palace - Day Three
25th March 2012
Today we headed in the morning to the Royal Palace located in Sinaia. The journey was only about an hour and scenery was full of trees and mountains as we made our way through the forests.
When we arrived we had to walk for a while to get to the Palace but on the way you can see it standing at the top.
When we got the Royal Palace we paid 20 lei in order to get in for the basic tour.
It costs another 50 lei to have the full tour, and 31 lei (around that price) to be able to take photos inside.
So as a result I didn't get any photos of the inside, but just know, it's vast, it's multi cultural and it is interesting. The Royal Palace is one of the most modern of its kind, having central heating, water, sewage, electricity and most amazing of all, a vacuum cleaner.
Set amongst the forest and the mountains, simply been on the outside is good enough, but it's definitely worth having a peek inside.
After the visit, we headed back into Brasov to eat lunch at a Romanian restaurant in order to experience the food. I had schnitzel with ham, cheese and mushrooms with a side of peasants' potatoes, it was very nice but probably not something that is considered a traditional Romanian dish but more that of mainland Europe.
This was then followed up with us heading back to the apartment. I then proceeded to type this :D
